Send Me Stuff!

Package Suggestions

Since people have been asking (and I by no means am going to argue with them!), I have put up a list of things that I will greatly appreciate if someone feels inclined to send me a package. I snagged this list off of someone else’s blog, but it seems pretty accurate, and added some of my own favorites. These are just suggestions, any little thing at all will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Food (think things that won’t go bad easily)
-Candy! Seriously, anything sweet is amazing!
-Packaged soups
-The Package of Sauce from Mac and Cheese, with the directions!
-Granola
-Goldfish!
-Trail Mix
-Flavored instant oatmeal (Maple and Brown Sugar is my favorite!
-Tea
-Snack bars (Cliff, GeniSoy, things of this nature, berry ones are best)
-Instant packaged dinner
-Pasta Roni/Liptons Pasta Stuff
-Dried fruit (berries, peaches, pear- you can't get those here!)
-Nuts (NOT cashews or peanuts-those are everywhere here!)
-Chocolate (but carefully packaged in a Ziploc bag so I can refrigerate it when it melts in the mail- peanut M&Ms seem to do well here!)
-Cake mix, brownie mix, muffin mix, cookie mix, etc!....
-Uncle Dan's Ranch Dip
-Cereal
-Tunafish
-Spices (for cooking)
-Anything involving ingredients for Mexican food!

Toiletry Items
Anything that smells good! I honestly will be ecstatic just to even have hair conditioner, so anything at all will be cool. But if we are getting into particulars, my favorites are:
-Dial Soap
-John Freida’s Brilliant Brunette (Chestnut to Esspresso Color) Shampoo and Conditioner
-dental floss
-toothpaste
-razors (or just Venus Razor heads)
-Q-tips
-deodorant
-Clean and Clear Morning Burst face wash
-Aveno oil free sunscreen (45+)

Entertainment
-DVDs (movies, TV shows, stand-up comedy, etc. All will go to the workstation and many PCVs will benefit)
-Books! (I really like fiction mostly but really anything)
-Any sort of magazine, good or crappy (the best are trashy celeb mags- Star, People, etc)
-AA batteries
-AAA batteries
-pictures and letters from home

School Supplies
-Markers (the permanent ones here suck)
-Pens (again, the ones here suck) my favorite are the Pilot Gel pens
-BIG (5x11) notecards, white and colored
-legal pads (oh, how I miss them...)

Mis.
-Magazines and catalogs, I can show the pictures to a tailor and have copies made

Prizes for my Students (think very small)
-Dollar store trinkets are very popular
-Bubbles (they LOVE bubbles)
-Little Bouncy Balls
-Pencils, esp. the ones with designs on them
-Pens, even the regular Bic kind are SO much better than the ones here...
-Stickers! (especially the little ones, for example those little stars or something similar) so that I can give small rewards during classes
